Notice: Martial Arts School Fee Adjustment
We would like to inform you about an important update regarding our fees at Focus Martial Arts School that we recently emailed to our members. In light of recent economic challenges and increased operational expenses, we find it necessary to nominally adjust our pricing structure.
Effective from October 1st, 2023, we will be implementing a fee adjustment. We understand that this change may raise questions, and we want to assure you that we have carefully considered this adjustment to ensure the sustainability of our school and the quality of our programs.
To provide you with the exact details of the fee adjustment applicable to your specific situation, we have recently email each student and family. This personalized approach will allow us to address any concerns and provide a clear understanding of the changes.
We value your continued support and the trust you place in us as your martial arts school. If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our team directly. Your feedback is essential to us, and we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for all our students and their families.

How Gradings Work!
There is a few items you need to have achieved, to be eligible to progress to your next martial arts belt.
MARTIAL ARTS STUDENTS – GRADING MINIMUMS
There is a number of days between gradings required.
> 120 days for White to Blue-Black
> 160 days for Purple to Cho-Dan-Bo
> One year per Black Belt Dan
PLUS
A specific number of classes (2 per week based on the days above)
so for 120 days = 4 months = 16 weeks PLUS 32 days (16 x 2)
PLUS
5 x Skills Tips (Strikes, Kicks, Self Defence, Traditional, Fitness)
PLUS 3 Life Skills Tips (Life Skills, Intensity & Black Belt Attitude)
LITTLE NINJAS – GRADING MINIMUMS
1 X Tip per week (8 tips in total)
Balance, Focus, Coordination, Memory, Fitness, Confidence, Discipline, Black Belt Attitude (earned at home)
Minimum 8 weeks
Minimum 16 Classes

CLASSES & TIME FRAME REQUIREMENTS FOR
LITTLE NINJAS & LITTLE SAMURAIS:
Little Ninjas and Little Samurais – 16 classes and 2 months
TIP REQUIREMENTS FOR MARTIAL ARTS:
5 Skill Tips (Super Strikes, Terrific Kicks, Effective Self Defense, Traditional, and Fitness) Minimum of 1 each of the Life Skills Tips (Life Skills Master, Intensity, Black Belt Attitude).
NOTE: Students can NOMINATE for grading, without the Life Skills Tips. But they MUST have earnt them by the Grading Event.
How to Earn the Black Belt Attitude Tip:
This is awarded by parents if under 17 years, or self awarded if 17+.
To earn this tip a Black Belt Story MUST be submitted. CLICK HERE to access the form for the Black Belt Attitude tip. Black Belt Stories can also be submitted in person at the club reception.
Students MUST have at least 1, but can earn multiple, Black Belt Tips between gradings.

TIP REQUIREMENTS FOR LITTLE NINJAS & LITTLE SAMURAIS:
LITTLE NINJAS & LITTLE SAMURAIS – MUST HAVE ALL 8 TIPS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR GRADING.
In this 3-6-year olds program, students can earn a tip each week (if they pass the skills).
There are 8 tips for them to have to be eligible for grading.
FOCUS | CONFIDENCE | DISCIPLINE | COORDINATION | FITNESS | BALANCE | MEMORY
The Black Belt Attitude Tip – is awarded by parents. Parents need to submit a Black Belt Story.
Tell us how their child has shown a GREAT Black Belt attitude in their life. And we will give the student the Black Belt Attitude tip – to be put on the belt by the parent [a great bonding moment to tell them how proud you are of them].
Black Belt Stories can be submitted in person at the club ideally with the Life Skills they have learnt in class and through Harry & Friends – when the Instructors ask for them at the end of class, or via a video submission, text/photo post, SMS, Email – sent through to us or on our FB page.

Martial Arts Students attendance requirements vary depending on the belt level.
CLASSES & TIME FRAME REQUIREMENTS FOR
MARTIAL ARTS:
- White – Purple Belt – minimum of 32 classes and 4 months between gradings.
- Purple/Black to Red/Black – minimum of 40 classes and 5 months between gradings.
- Cho Dan Bo – minimum of 48 classes and 6 months between gradings.
- Black Belt Dans – minimum of 1 year per Dan Grading at minimum 2 training sessions/wk
